Baggen Softbelt Asera is a slim and lightweight hands-free dog belt with shock absorption that gives you free hands and a natural movement when out with your dog. The lighter construction rests comfortably around the hips and makes the belt especially appreciated for everyday walks and calmer activities. At the same time, it has the same core function as the other Softbelts, which means you can also use it for Nordic walking, jogging, longer hikes or even skiing, whenever you want to move freely without feeling restricted. A reflective band is sewn around the padded parts of the belt, increasing your safety in darkness or low light.

On the sides of Softbelt Asera there are also dedicated attachment points, perfect for accessories such as the Baggen Treat Bag, making it easy to carry treats, keys or other small essentials in a convenient way.

The built-in expander effectively absorbs sudden pulls and reduces strain on both your body and your dog’s. The construction helps take up force during pulling and relieves pressure on arms, shoulders, and back – while protecting the dog’s joints and muscles, especially during hard pulls or sudden bursts of speed. The result is a smoother, more controlled motion that allows both of you to focus on the experience instead of compensating for jerks. The leash is easily attached to the included quick release, allowing you to move with a natural arm swing and stay fully focused on your surroundings.

Softbelt Asera can be equipped with leg loops (Art. 2250), which keep the belt securely in place over the hips during more intensive activities such as skiing or running. The attachment points are intended solely for this accessory and must not be used to connect a dog.

What do X1 and X2 mean?
X1 and X2 refer to the different damping levels built into the BAGGEN® Softbelt. They are easy to replace and sold separately.

X1 – Single expander = Soft damping
A softer damping recommended for small or medium-sized dogs, up to about 18–20 kg. May also be suitable for larger dogs if the handler is lightweight or has limited strength.

X2 – Double expander = Firm damping
A firmer damping designed for handlers with multiple or larger dogs (over 18–20 kg). Offers better control and closer contact with strong-pulling dogs but is best suited for those with strength and body weight to match.

Multiple dogs on the same belt – how to do it:
The front hooks should always be connected. Never attach one dog to each hook. Use one of the following accessories to safely leash multiple dogs:

• Quick release (included): Simple solution for attaching one or more leashes to the same point.

• Double quick release – Swivel: Popular accessory with two separate loops and a swivel – ideal for multiple leashes on the belt.

• Leash attachment – Twistlock: Extra secure attachment with locking mechanism to prevent accidental release.

• Leash coupler: Attach lower on the leash to avoid multiple leashes directly on the belt.

Competition – important to know:

• Certain sled dog competitions may require specific equipment. The standard hooks included with the belt are not always competition-approved but can easily be replaced with an approved hook, such as a snap hook (Snap Hook Brass / 2-pack).

• In some competitions, the line must also be attached using an open hook – we recommend the Joring hook, available in our range. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that their equipment meets the requirements for the specific event or country.

Size and adjustment:

• The belt is approximately 8 cm high.
   
• Adjustable for hip measurements between about 75–140 cm.
   
• Should be worn on the hips – not the waist – for best function.

Materials

The outer shell of the Softbelt Asera is made from durable nylon fabric that withstands both daily use and tougher conditions. The padding consists of form-stable closed-cell foam that provides support and comfort, while the inside is lined with black breathable mesh for increased ventilation and comfort. The padded section is sewn onto a 40 mm wide polyester strap that is adjustable and fitted with a sturdy quick-release buckle for easy and secure fastening.

Care instructions: Hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Gently scrub if needed, rinse thoroughly, and let air dry.
